We went to the Pediatrician here in Vegas yesterday. Sierra made the trip fine. Appt was for 3pm, we were there early, but didn't get called back until 4pm...just in time for her feeding. So she was a little fussy because she was hungry, and all the poking and prodding, but she was a trooper and survived. We fed her while she was there and she was worn out when we returned. Long day means a great night sleep which was good for Mom and Dad. All in all, it was a great first adventure outside the hotel room.
Doc says things are good. Her heart murmur is very faint. We'll follow up with a cardiologist in a couple of months to see how the hole between her top 2 chambers is doing. Doc thinks it will close up fine, but we just have to check.
She also has to have a follow up on her hearing test. We're not too worried about this one. We question more the competency of the three ring circus nurses who were trying to administer the test at the Pediatrician's office more than we question her hearing. She responds great to our voices and other sounds (Steph's singing her to sleep) so we feel it's just procedure. But still something we have to follow up on.
She weighed in at just under 7lbs. So we haven't got back to birth weight just yet, but nothing alarming. Doc says 10 to 14 days to get back to that weight. We did change up her feeding schedule to at most every 3 hours so we can get her nice and full so she can continue to grow.
The Doc was great about answering our questions (go figure we have a few being first timers) and he seemed very pleased with how she was doing.
One more trip to see him on Tuesday, but if the paperwork is done before then, we'll see our Pediatrician at home instead of spending one more day in Vegas.
Just wanted to give you the health update.
Thanks again for all your prayers and phone calls.
We truly appreciate it.
